Carzo’s rebel WoW Arcane Mage guide

Race Choice:
Troll, Orc, Blood elf, Night Elf, Undead, Worgen, Goblin, Draenie, Human, Gnome, and dwarf.
Orc: Blood Fury, good for PvE burst and pvp burst
Blood Elf: Arcane Torrent, a nice silence and mana return
Night Elf: Shadowmeld, nice to avoid spell casts and/or get out of combat to flee
Undead: WOTF, ever since the nerf way back when it sucks
Goblin: Rocket jump/ rocket belt. Rocket Jump is a nice substitute when blink is on CD, belt is nice when you want another instant to your rotation.
Draenie: Stupid self heal
Human: Double trinket, one of the best choices
Gnome: Escape artist, lame don’t role gnome
Dwarf: Stone form, okay if you’re being bursted down heavily.
Overall Choice:
Alliance : Human, the double trinket helps more than just a little doing SO MUCH more dmg.
Horde: Goblin, the jump is nice if you need to go defensive and get ranged, the belt is nice if you own the fight and just need more burst.

Talents



Tier 1 :3/2/3
Clear casting is a must for long PvP fights, however you can replace this talent with whatever you want if you feel need.
Imp Counter spell. Must take it, not optional.
Netherwind Haste, Arcane Blast has a long cast time, in my gear/spec I manage 15% haste, this helps a lot.
Tier 2 : 3/2/0/2
Torment the weak, very helpful because slow has no cooldown and arcane blast applies slow with later talents.
Invocation, a talent made for PvP, with IMP counter spell it is incredibly helpful for burst.
Imp Arcane Missiles, if you are looking at this guide you must know Rebel-WoW has arcane missiles not working as of 4/18/11, so no point in taking this. I would probably replace clearcasting with this when it’s fixed.
Imp Blink, hands down the best talent ever. You blink away and get a mini-sprint while getting off arcane barrage and fire blast (also ice lance). Insane.
Tier 3: 2/1/0/3
Arcane flows, this talent is optional, I take it simply for those long arenas where you need a second evocation.
PoM, not optional, you need this no matter what (what I like to use it for is instant polys on warriors when they have reflect up for the heal)
Missile Barrage, arcane missiles is broken like I said
Prismatic cloak, it’s like an extra 600 resilience, why not?
Tier 4: 0/1/2/2
Improved Polymorph, Optional, I didn’t take it for simple reasons
Arcane Tactics 3% more damage, why not.
Incanters absorption, high dps casters + knockbacks = success.
Impr. Arcane explo. I love this talent when warrriors get near you, spam it, arcane barrage, fire blast, and blink away.
Tier 5 2/1/2
Arcane Potency, this is the main reason I took clear casting, but you’ll benefit from it either way as long as you get PoM.
Slow, our main skill.
Nether Vortex, for bgs when applying slow is just wasting time
Tier 6 :1/0
Focus magic, nice for group pvp.
Tier 7 1/
So obvious, just get this.
FIRE TIER 1: 0/3/2
Burning soul, nice if you’re almost finished casting but a melee gets on you.
IMP fire blast, it’s in your burst rotation..so get it
FROST TIER 1:0/3/0
Piercing Ice, must for ALL MAGE SPECS EVER END OF DISCUSSION!
Keybindings
This setup is a good start if you don’t have naga. Also I only included the main pvp spells, put the other spells wherever you feel (polymorph ect).
